Ever have an opening act at a concert unexpectedly blow you away? The Big Sleep did just that to me when I saw them open for Editors at Webster Hall earlier this year.Soon afterward, French Kiss released their debut album, "Son Of The Tiger", which was/is one of two cd's that went into my 5-disc changer this year and never came out because they were so good (the other being Asobi Seksu's "Citrus").
Just off their tour with The Hold Steady, The Big Sleep's guitarist Danny Barria sent us his poll answers:

The whole summer, kicked off by buying a new guitar
and wrapped up neatly with my sister having a kid.
5. What is your biggest wish for 2007?
It's a tie amongst these: liquid smarties, a functioning government,
and advances in hearing recovery.
